Our missionary partners Ed and Linda Baker use the gift of good, clean abundant water to share the Gospel.  Aldersgate recently contributed Going Deeper funds for their current water project in Tanzania.  Lemsanya and Kristen Matveia Tisho, missionaries with TMS Global, run an orphanage in the community of Berega, about 180 miles west of the capital city of Dar es Salaam.  The orphanage is home to a lot of people.  In addition to their two children, the Tishos are fostering two additional children.  There are usually 15 or more orphans plus adult caretakers and staff, in all, up to 50 people living there.

Lemsanya’s goal is to make the orphanage as self-sufficient as possible so there are about a dozen cows and 30 goats.  They have several raised bed gardens, but their goal is to have at least an acre planted to provide food for all of the people and animals at the facility.  A developed well will be a great benefit not only to the orphanage, but to the community as well, and that’s where the Bakers, and Aldersgate, come in.

They write, “We are so very grateful for the generous donation of Aldersgate to our water well ministry!  The well in Berega has been drilled, but none of the pumping equipment has been installed yet.  We plan to travel to Tanzania after the project has been completed.  Then we can come and present the final results to Aldersgate.  Please extend our sincere thanks to the church members.”
